Professional Experience

Since Highschool and during my undergraduate, I worked as a volunteer in a literary association that promoted fantasy literature among children and teenagers. Participating in this association was an essential part of my professional path because it showed me the importance of promoting literature and growing interest in reading among young people. During my participation in the association, I had the opportunity to give conferences at book fairs in Bogota and literature workshops in other cities and conventions. These activities allowed me to work with children of different ages and grow my passion for working in teaching.

In 2018 I came to the US AuPair and worked with a 4 to 7 years old kid. Teaching her how to read and write in Spanish and English during the pandemic was a significant mind shift because it gave me more confidence in my skills to work in education. When I arrived, I started my journey as an ESL myself at Carlos Rosario International Public charter school. Then after the ESL program finished, I completed a Bilingual Teaching Assistant program in 2020, which gave me the bases to apply for a Master’s degree in Educational Transformation at Georgetown University. In 2020 I volunteered at Washington English Center as a conversational partner and teacher assistant working with adults from different cultural backgrounds.
